The building I work in has a few hallways that intersect at doorways in blind corners. Despite the small glass panels in the doors, it is still nearly impossible to tell that people are coming from the other side until you have opened the door into their faces. So the safety department — which has never previously shown that it has a sense of humor — recently put up these signs.


I smile every time I see them. There is something so very Zen about the idea that we may as well all slow down, because whatever meeting we’re rushing off to, everyone is going to be late anyway.
