We’ve been kicking around the idea of a blog for awhile. Surely someone out there in cyberspace is interested in reading all the amusing moments that occur when two lesbians, both of whom have been single since the Clinton years, and one of whom has a school-age son, turn into a happy family of 3. However, now that we’re facing the stark empty white box for our brand-new blog, it’s a little hard to think of what to write. I’m S, mom of the boy, and currently running a fever. I probably should have known better than to get a flu shot and a tetanus booster in the same day. E, the girlfriend, is busy being amused by my stoic Yankee-ness that says I’m not going to squander a lovely afternoon by taking a nap, no matter how crappy I feel. M, the boy, is busy eating, after having spent an hour running around with his best friend trying to heave each other off the rope ladder in the front yard. He’s at a stage where he eats his own weight in food daily, which is no mean feat when you’re 10 years old and still only weigh 60 pounds.
So that’s us, on a nice mellow Sunday afternoon. M has just announced he plans to finish the coffee cake.
